Benefits of disposable arm sleeves in the workplace

In laboratory, clinical or food-handling environments, disposable arm sleeves have become an ideal product for performing tasks correctly, as they are highly effective in covering the upper part of the arms and ensuring protection and safety.

These single-use sleeves cover the arm from the elbow to the wrist. They can be made from Polyethylene or Laminated Non-Woven Polypropylene, and they prevent the worker from coming into direct contact with the product they are handling, ensuring that they do not contaminate food or surgical materials.

In addition, arm sleeves protect the sleeves of workers’ clothing from potential soiling caused by solids and liquids. Polyethylene sleeves prevent cross-contamination, while laminated Non-Woven Polypropylene sleeves prevent reverse contamination.

Both materials provide the sleeves with waterproof properties, making them the perfect complement to other disposable products such as single-use gowns or disposable aprons.

Characteristics of disposable arm sleeves

Regardless of the material they are made from, arm sleeves share a number of common features:

They are waterproof.

They include elastic bands at both ends.

  • One-size-fits-all.
  • Hypoallergenic.
  • Non-sterile.
  • Recyclable.
  • Certified.
  • Customisable.

Thanks to their 100% recyclable nature, disposable arm sleeves are not only convenient in terms of storage and avoiding the washing required by reusable fabric alternatives, but they also do not pollute or harm the environment. However, they must always be disposed of in the appropriate recycling container to ensure proper recycling.

As a single-use product, it is recommended to use the sleeves only once and discard them after use. Prolonged use or using them more than once may compromise the performance for which they were designed. When putting them on, care must also be taken not to stretch the product beyond its capacity, as this may result in tearing of the material.
